Protective Workshops

Protective Workshops The Association encourages transformation and independence. The various workshops affiliated to the Association have been transformed to independence. APD continue to mentor workshops in Tembisa and Soweto as safe, disabled-friendly environments providing opportunities for pwd's to develop and improve their skills and to earn an income to supplement their pensions.

So the next time you need hands, lots of hands, for that rush job, think of the workshops and give us a call and we will refer you to the nearest workshop in your area.

The workshops are particularly good at doing high volume, low skilled work at extremely competitive rates.

The type of work that is undertaken at the Workshops include:

CONTRACT WORK:
  • sorting,
  • counting,
  • cleaning,
  • packing,
  • simple assembly and the like.

MANUFACTURE:
  • baking,
  • welding,
  • woodwork,
  • arts & crafts,
  • basket making,
  • sewing and
  • knitting.
