How to Become a Member?

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Association for the Physically Disabled - Greater Johannesburg. Your support and involvement are crucial in helping us fulfill our mission and create a more inclusive society. There are various levels of involvement that you can choose from:

Ordinary Member: 
Ordinary Members have a specific interest in disability issues and play a vital role in ensuring the organization's vision is realized. As an Ordinary Member, you will attend the Annual General Meeting and help appoint the Executive Board to ensure good governance.

Sub-Committee Member: 
You can serve on one of our Sub-Committees, such as the Internal Audit Committee or Risk Management Committee. These committees meet regularly to contribute to the organization's strategic direction.

Executive Board Member: 
Members of the Executive Board carry fiduciary responsibilities and oversee the day-to-day activities of the organization. The Board meets bi-monthly to make important decisions and provide guidance.

Skills Consultant: 
If you have special skills or expertise, you can volunteer your time to assist the organization when needed. Your availability and the number of hours you contribute will be flexible.

Buddy: 
If you have limited time but still want to make a difference, you can become a Buddy. Buddies help during special events, such as Casual Day, by assisting with tasks like manning stalls or selling merchandise.
